Opportunity at a Glance

Walden University is seeking a dynamic and experienced Director of Brand & Product Marketing to lead strategic development and execution of marketing initiatives for our diverse portfolio of academic programs. This role is crucial in driving enrollment growth, enhancing brand awareness, and aligning marketing efforts with the university's mission and values. A deep understanding of higher education marketing, strategic mindset, and passion for impacting students' lives are essential.

Responsibilities

  • Develop comprehensive, integrated marketing plans to achieve university growth goals.
  • Collaborate with teams including admissions, academic affairs, and digital marketing to ensure alignment and effectiveness.
  • Define and communicate the unique value propositions of Walden's programs.
  • Act as a Brand Champion to maintain consistent and compelling brand identity throughout the consumer journey.
  • Oversee product positioning and messaging tailored to target audiences.
  • Lead successful product launches, including audience identification, messaging, positioning, and channel strategies.
  • Manage and mentor a team of 2 product marketers, supporting their professional growth.
  • Generate innovative marketing ideas to increase brand and product awareness, engagement, and equity.
  • Foster a collaborative and innovative team environment.
  • Build and maintain relationships with stakeholders such as faculty, program directors, and external partners.
  • Present marketing strategies and results to senior leadership and stakeholders.
  • Coordinate with other departments to ensure seamless communication.
  • Manage outside vendors, including PR and ad agencies.
  • Perform other duties as assigned and ensure compliance with policies and standards.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in marketing or related field required; Master's preferred.
  • Minimum of 10 years marketing experience in corporate or agency environments.
  • Strong expertise in brand and product marketing, digital marketing, and working in matrixed environments.
  • Proven leadership and team management skills.
  • Excellent communication and project management abilities.
  • Data analysis skills to inform strategies.
  • Willingness to travel overnight up to 15%.

Additional Information

Salary range: $100,171 - $181,034, adjustable based on experience, location, and other factors. Benefits include health/dental/vision/life insurance, 401k with 6% match, flexible time off, and paid holidays. Participation in an annual incentive program is also available.
