Responsibilities

Provides direct nursing care including assessments, care plan development, education, and evaluation for assigned patients. Performs patient duties necessary to maintain the flow of patient care and coordinates the delivery of care provided by other care team members and disciplines.

Required Skills

• Strong verbal and written skills.
• Knowledge of medical terminology, infection control and safety.
• Adaptability.
• Principles of patient/family teaching.
• Ability to resolve biophysical, psychological, educational, and environmental needs of the patient/family with consideration of age.
• Accuracy in maintaining medical records.
• Strong computer skills.
• Honest, dependable, conscientious.
• Alert to cues on the phone when assessment is limited to auditory, verbal and emotional cues.
• Ability to communicate effectively on a level easily understandable by the patient.

Required Experience

• Current California RN license (BSN/MSN preferred)
• Evidence of continuing education
• Prior experience in ambulatory care nursing
• Current Basic Life Support Card

Preferred

• Bilingual English/Spanish communication skills
