Summary Growing community church is looking for an energetic and enthusiastic leader to provide transformational leadership for the St. Paul Community UMC preschool. This knowledgeable, skilled, compassionate leader will ensure a Christ-centered environment for students, utilizing sound administrative, supervisory, and financial practices. The Director of St. Paul Preschool is directly responsible to the Senior Pastor with in collaboration with the Personnel Committee and the Preschool Board.
Duties Job Duties and Responsibilities: Administrative: � The Director assumes responsibility for the daily operation of the preschool program including providing classroom and program coverage and support as necessary. � The Director will be the liaison between the preschool and the church, attending church staff meetings as requested. � The Director will develop, implement, and evaluate programs, curriculum, policies, and procedures ensuring compliance with all appropriate regulatory standards for preschool facilities in the State of Ohio. � The Director will maintain documents, credentials, policies, procedures, standards, recordkeeping, and other instructions for the operation of the preschool. � Maintain and participate in established department and state policies, procedures, programs, and objectives, concerning quality assurance, safety, security, environmental conditions, and infection control. Financial Duties � Ensure the financial status of the preschool by keeping costs within the approved budget. � Ensure tuition is paid, working with the assistance of the Church Treasurer. � Researching and applying for grant assistance. � Coordinate with the Church Treasurer in developing and managing the annual operating budget including collaboration on payroll, expense and income tracking and reporting. Supervisory Duties � Supervise preschool staff including hiring collaboration with personnel committee, training, assignment of duties, and performance review utilizing the Preschool Policy and Procedure Manual and the St. Paul Policy and Procedure Manual and meeting all ODJFS requirements. � Develop work schedules for staff and substitutes, as necessary. � Ensure all preschool staff have Safe Sanctuary training. Church Connectional Duties � Attend meetings of the Church staff and Preschool Board as requested. � Coordinate service and lesson planning needs with appropriate church staff. � Support the evangelism strategy of the church by actively inviting families to attend worship and participate in the ministry of St. Paul CUMC. Other Duties � Responsible for parent contact, questions, and concerns. � Regularly greet and interact with parents and children during drop-off and pick-up. � Maintain enrollment capacity and move towards full enrollment utilizing a defined marketing plan. � Perform other goals and duties as assigned. Additional compensation of classroom coverage needs to be approved by immediate supervisor. Requirements Character Qualifications: � Strong character and work ethic � Highly relational � Teachable spirit and team player � Perseverance and resilience � Welcomes diversity Qualifications: � Minimum bachelor?s degree in early childhood education, child development, special education, or related field with Ohio state licensure.
� Two years management experience in a childcare or preschool environment or equivalent.
� Strong organizational skills.
� Ability to advance the preschool program as a church outreach ministry.
� Ability to understand and manage the intricacies of a church-based preschool program.
� Ability to establish and maintain good interpersonal relationships with parents, children, preschool and church staff.
� Excellent communication skills.
� CPR and standard first aid certified; lay responder minimum.
Physical Requirements: � The position requires an elevated level of activity. Work involves physical tasks, including walking, standing, bending, lifting, and kneeling.
Benefits Compensation: � Commensurate with experience and responsibility.
Work Schedule: � August through May, 25hrs/week and occasional meetings as requested. June-July 20-25 hrs/week as necessary.
