Job Description

* Description of the role: The Automotive Service Advisor is responsible for providing exceptional customer service and acting as a liaison between customers and the service department. They will assist customers with inquiries, schedule and manage service appointments, and provide accurate and detailed information regarding vehicle repairs and maintenance. * Responsibilities:

  • Communicate with customers to understand their vehicle concerns and gather relevant information.
  • Schedule and manage service appointments, ensuring efficiency and timely completion of services.
  • Provide accurate and detailed explanations of recommended repairs and maintenance to customers.
  • Estimate repair costs and time required for services.
  • Coordinate with the service technicians to ensure timely completion of repairs.
  • Keep customers informed of the status of their vehicles throughout the service process.
  • Address customer inquiries and concerns in a professional and timely manner.
  • Ensure customer satisfaction by providing exceptional service and resolving any issues.
* Requirements:
  • Prior experience as an Automotive Service Advisor is preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of automotive parts and services.
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills.
  • Ability to effectively multitask and prioritize tasks.
  • Proficient computer skills and familiarity with service management software.
  • Attention to detail and strong problem-solving abilities.
  • Valid driver's license and clean driving record.

The Classic Nissan of Newport News is currently looking for EXPERIENCED NISSAN / TOYOTA / HYUNDAI / HONDA SERVICE ADVISORS to help with our growing service departments located at our Classic Nissan locations in Williamsburg and Newport News VA. Our service advisors assist customers in caring for their cars by conveying the value of maintaining their vehicles in accordance with the manufacturer’s guidelines. The service advisor must establish and maintain positive relationships with our clients. What You Do:
  • Perform service drive walk-around inspections of customer vehicles and apply proper resources to accurately identify, verify and communicate clients' service needs. Record them along with current vehicle and client information on the repair order
  • Interact with customers to determine immediate service needs
  • Serve as a liaison between technicians and customers
  • Provide excellent customer service experience
  • Review service history, and multipoint inspection results and recommend service to clients
  • Write and verify accurate repair orders and include supporting documentation to complete manufacturer’s warranty claims
Support service department goals by:
  • Improving sales of labor, parts, and accessories
  • Administer new and used vehicle warranty repairs in accordance with the manufacturer's requirements
  • Verify vehicle services are performed correctly upon completion by inspecting the vehicle before returning to the customer
  • Perform an active vehicle delivery with the customer when work is completed
  • Build and maintain knowledge of products and services via on-the-job activities and completion of manufacturer training

Compensation and benefits:
  • Earnings range between $60k-$120K
  • Base range will be determined by competitive market rate for your skills, experience and performance
