Opportunity at a Glance

Walden University is seeking a dynamic and experienced Director of Brand & Product Marketing to lead the strategic development and execution of marketing initiatives for our diverse portfolio of academic programs. The Director will play a crucial role in driving enrollment growth, enhancing brand awareness, and aligning marketing efforts with the university's mission and values. This role requires a deep understanding of higher education marketing, strategic thinking, and a passion for positively impacting students’ lives.

Responsibilities

  • Direct creation of comprehensive, integrated marketing plans to achieve university growth goals.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including admissions, academic affairs, and digital marketing, to ensure alignment and effectiveness of initiatives.
  • Define and communicate the unique value propositions of Walden’s programs.
  • Act as a Brand Champion, ensuring consistent and compelling brand identity throughout the customer journey.
  • Oversee product positioning and messaging for target audiences.
  • Lead successful product launches, including audience identification, messaging development, and channel planning, acting as GTM SME.
  • Manage and mentor a team of 2 product marketers, supporting their development and goal achievement.
  • Generate innovative marketing ideas to increase brand and product awareness, deepen engagement, and build brand equity.
  • Foster a collaborative, innovative team environment.
  • Build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, including faculty, program directors, and external partners.
  • Present marketing strategies and results to senior leadership and stakeholders.
  • Coordinate with other university departments to ensure seamless communication.
  • Manage outside vendors, such as PR and ad agencies.
  • Perform other duties as assigned and ensure compliance with policies and standards.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in marketing or related field required; Master’s preferred.
  • Minimum 10 years of marketing experience in a corporate or agency environment.
  • Strong expertise in brand and product marketing, with proven digital marketing skills.
  • Experience working in a highly matrixed environment.
  • Proven leadership in managing marketing teams.
  • Excellent communication, project management, and data analysis skills.
  • Ability to craft compelling narratives.
  • Willingness to travel overnight up to 15%.

Additional Information

The expected salary range is $100,171 to $181,034, adjusted based on experience, location, and other factors. Our benefits include health, dental, vision, life, disability insurance, a 401k with a 6% employer match, flexible time off, and paid holidays. Participation in an annual incentive program is also available, dependent on performance.
