Job Title: Dispatcher With Port Drayage Experience

Location: Houston, Texas 77049

Job Type: Full-time, shift is either 6am to 3pm or 10am to 7pm

Hourly Pay Rate: $18-$22 per hour (Based on experience and qualifications)

Company Overview: A leading logistics and freight management company specializing in port drayage services. With a fleet of four company-owned trucks and partnerships with external carriers, providing reliable and efficient transportation solutions.

Job Summary: We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented dispatcher with a minimum of 3 years of experience in port drayage operations and experience working with the Houston port.

Key Responsibilities

Dispatch Planning & Coordination:

  • Schedule and dispatch loads using both company-owned trucks and external carriers.
  • Optimize routes for timely and cost-efficient delivery.
  • Monitor shipment progress and provide real-time updates.

Driver Coordination & Payment:

  • Assign loads to drivers based on availability and performance.
  • Calculate and process driver payments based on mileage, load type, and other factors.
  • Ensure compliance with HOS regulations.

Billing & Documentation:

  • Prepare and issue accurate invoices for completed deliveries.
  • Maintain detailed records of dispatch operations, driver payments, and maintenance logs.

Qualifications

Required:

  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in dispatch in the Houston area, specifically with the Houston port.
  • Strong organizational and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficiency in dispatch software and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Excellent communication and time-management abilities.

Preferred:

  • Experience with Cargowise Software is a plus
  • Bilingual (English and Spanish preferred).
